Measurement Conversion Cheat Sheet

ImageI will be the first to admit I am horrible with conversions. I am constantly forgetting how many teaspoons there are to a tablespoon and making half-batches is actually a nightmare. When faced with conversions, a lot of beginner cooks can end up feeling sort of like this:

Most cookbooks come with a basic conversion chart, but I get most of my recipes from the interwebs (Thank you, Pinterest!) and therefore do not have that luxury.┬áSo, if you’re like me, I saved you the hassle of buying a conversion chart: here’s a cheat sheet you can bookmark and use whenever you need it.

1 tablespoon = 3 teaspoons (so 1 teaspoon equals 1/3 of a tablespoon)
(PS: Tablespoon is abbreviated Tbsp and Teaspoon is Tsp)
1/8 cup = 2 Tbsp or 6 Tsp
1/4 cup = 4 Tbsp or 12 Tsp
1/3 cup = 5 Tbsp and 1 Tsp
3/8 cup = 1/4 cup and 2 Tbsp
1/2 cup = 8 Tbsp or 24 Tsp
2/3 cup = 10 Tbsp and 2 Tsp
5/8 cup = 1/2 cup and 2 Tbsp
3/4 cup = 12 Tbsp or 36 Tsp
7/8 cup = 3/4 cup and 2 Tbsp
1 cup = 16 Tbsp

2 cups = 1 pint
2 pints = 1 quart
4 quarts = 1 gallon

Hopefully this helps with a few of those trickier kitchen conversions!

Happy Nomming!
